Have some Legere reeds available and ready to play.

I have a similar problem in the late fall in Chicago, after humid summer and
fall weather, the cold descends, and the heating systems come on. The average
humidity for the reeds and the clarinets probably drops 20/30 %.

It is NOT uncommon for me to have an entire batch of reeds become
"uncooperative".

In transitional weather seasons, it really helps me to have some Legeres in
my clarinet case. It has saved MY butt a couple of times.

ALSO.......don't think it's just us "little" guys who have reed problems.

I was present at a rehearsal a week or two ago, where a "big name" was
rehearsing a concerto with a local orchestra. This individual, whose name all
here would recognize (and don't get me wrong, this person is a superb
clarinetist and musician), was playing beautifully, but it was obvious he/she
was having reed problems. Some small squeaks, high notes not speaking
securely, etc.

It happens........
