Hello, Clarinet List.

I'm a big fan of Hindemith, but more so of his concept
that music should be well-written, yet practical, and also to
write unaccompanied pieces, accompanied sonatas and con-
certos for every orchestral instrument. I blend Chromatic
Modal Harmony with Quartal Harmony in a very lyrical
style, and there are a lot of contrapuntal sections and fugues
in my works.

In May 1999, we recorded my "Second Woodwind
Quintet" and I'm trying to save up the bucks to get it mass-
printed. In fact, I made it scored for Flute, Oboe, Bb Clarinet,
Horn in F, and either Bassoon or Bb Bass Clarinet, and we
recorded it with Ms. Enid Blount playing Bass Clarinet, and
Ms. Holly Haddad on Clarinet. They are did a VERY fine job,
and many subtle, musical touches! I'm also re-editing the Parts,
for easier page turns, so it's not ready for re-release right now.

At the moment I'm orchestrating 2 concerted works: a
Horn Concerto (3 movements, about 13 1/2 minutes) and an
"Ashkenazic Rhapsody" for Harp and Orchestra (9 minutes).
I'm already planning a chamber work for Tuba with Wood-
wind Quintet and percussion, as well as a symphony for my
doctoral dissertation.

My "Sonata for Flute and Piano" is already being well
received, and called the New Poulenc Sonata. I sincerely plan
to write sonatas and concertos for clarinet, eventually, but
am just too swamped right now. I will announce it, when my
"Second Woodwind Quintet" is ready to re-release, but with
so many other things to do right now, it will likely be in May
or June. Meanwhile, greetings from the local desert Happy
Farm!
