Fred: No, I'm not offended by irreverent humor, I actually tend to dwell on it. Some sort of
built-in survival mechanism activated by age that gives one liberties not available in the
polite society of youth. Fred, lets face it, we don't expect to outrun the actuarial tables,
I feel fine, I'm not dismally depressed about my geezer status, I accept the world as it is,
perhaps a bit irreverently, I just don't speculate in long term investments anymore. Some
months back I was chastised by a list member for speaking irreverently, perhaps seemingly
disrespectful, about my wife in the style of Rodney Dangerfield or Henny Youngman and the
lister said, "Tsk, tsk, I hope she doesn't read that!" The lister was too young to know
that sort of special banter between my wife of 50 years and I was the "way we are". A life
of eternal kidding, I suppose. She's an invalid but not in a nursing home. I take care
of her every need, like the man said, for better, for worse, in sickness and, etc. Thats
the built in stuff I'm refering to. It transcends the "Tsk, tsk" appellation.

Nice chatting with you, Fred. Stop by again sometime. Your Mother did really well--102 years
is a lot of lifetime.
