The only way I can imagine this happening, is that you have a mouthpiece with
a fairly concave table, and you tighten the ligature enough to bend the
middle down and the tip, thus, away from the mouthpiece tip. This does sound
disastrous. Does this also happen with your cane reeds? Check and see.

What happens if you loosen the ligature a bit? Does the tip fle back toward
the tip of the mouthpiece?

If anything, the Legere reeds warp downward toeard the tip of the mthp/ Never
saw one warp the other way.

BTW....I have a hint from the Legere users out there. Don't keep your Legere
reeds in the kind of reed holder that puts pressure on only one point on the
vamp of the reed, (As in the old metal Reedgard). This seems to me to damage
the playing ability of the reed.

I keep mine on a flat piece of plate glass, strapped down with rubber bands.
Works much better!
