balancing
a reed it plays lighter and more full than when first tried out. It stands
to
reason that a balanced reed has full vibrational potential over a reed "just
out
of the box" wherein one side of the reed is "working" and the other side is
sluggish. Good post.

has anyone had a problem with the legere reed bending in the middle so that
it creates a larger than normal space between the mouthpiece and the reed?
i've seen it happen a couple of times and its not good.
