I had the rare and wonderful experience of tudying with him for three
wonderful summer sessions while an undergrad at the University of
Wiscon-Milwaukee. The NY WWQ and the Fine Arts string quartet would be in
residence there all soummer and give two chamber conerts a week. Glazer and
his brothers (Frank the pianist) were from Wisconsin-went to UW-M when it was
Milwaukee State Teacher's College--the quintet than had John Barrows Irving
roth obeo and sam baron flute-quite an experience some of the first
commercial stereo recording released firt on tape then later lp the company
wa owned by guys in the Fine Arts quartet-check out some of the earlier
recordings they did with Kel-Glazer soloed with many smaller european
orchestra much repertoire played on an old Goldbeck (chicaago) mouthpiece
weghed a tone silver inlay side rails tip and bore in a rob rubber shell he
could sound so good it would almost make u weak i remember a schubert octet
with cso bassist jeffry siegel he was a member of the Cleveland under szell
from about 1946 to 1950 or so
