It's four days of recitals, master classes, vendor booths, lectures
and so forth at the University of Oklahoma. Some of the days are long
-- 8:30 AM
to 10:00 PM.
I've never been to one before, being a newbie myself, but I'm
looking forward to it. ClarinetFest has a web site if you want to read
the details: www.clarinetfest.org.

....and I heard a really weird group this afternoon. I was in a
hurry and I couldn't stay in my car long enough to hear the title or
group, but it was bagpipes, clarinet, banjo, violin and something that
sounded close to a guitar but not exactly the same -- all of it
dissonant -- my idea of what 'Bartok folk rock' would sound like if
there were such a thing. It was the first time that I've ever heard a
bagpipe *really* swing. Normally I don't like them.
