Greetings,
I have decided to resubscribe to Klarinet to see how you folks are getting
along these days. Actually, a friend of mine on the list has encouraged me to
come back, but I have been very busy with various projects, including my
first solo album "The Clarinetist Composer." That, hopefully, will be ready
for release by the summer. I should have some copies at the Clarinetfest in
Oklahoma this summer, where I will be presenting a tribute/retrospective on
Clark Brody.
Mr. Brody is one of my favorite people in the whole world. As those of you
who have already heard the recorded samples I have chosen can tell you, it
should be a nice presentation. Still trying to convince Mr. Brody to come in
person, but at 85 he mostly likes to travel to Hawaii where he frequently
vacations (and I don't blame him!). I interviewed him on videotape early this
month for the presentation. I hope all of you who come to OK will spend an
hour getting to know better the legacy of the Chicago Symphony's principal
clarinetist from 1951-1978.
