I'm going to end the Mystery Question, before I get accused of spamming.

I made this mouthpiece, totally by hand, using a new resin-like material I
have discovered.

The main reason for making this mouthpiece is to see if I could actually do
it. I did, and It was amazing what I learned in the process.

Also, since the material is transluscent, I could see what was going on
inside the mouthpiece, exactly where I was removing material, and what the
effect was.

One thing I found out, was how important was the area below the windway,
directly under the "shoulder" of the reed. A very sharp wedge shape is
necessary, tapering into the curve of the chamber. Amazing the differences in
tone and response can be had by making changes to this area.

As a clarinetist, I was never aware of this area.

I am now.

Anyway, I'm having fun, and I hope that many of you enjoy my sharing of the
knowledge I gain. If not, just tell me to shut up. LOL!

WG

BTW...Many thanks to Ed Maurey.....edshop on our list, who made a reamer for
me. His assistance has been invaluable.
