> The acronym TANSTAAFL comes to mind when the words "free" and "Internet"
are in the same sentence. Even Klarinet, clair, clariperu, and a couple
other lists I run aren't "free" - the original donations and continuing
financial support of my advertisers keeps it running. I just don't sell
information about the subscribers. I probably need to write up a policy
statement, too, to keep that clear.

an epithet in Sc-Fi books. Don't remember the originator of the term, but
was a _very_ famous author. Copied by just about every Sci-Fi author since
its coinage. Lelia - help!

Author - Robert Heinlein
Novel - The Moon is a Harsh Mistress

I believe it derives from a Russian word. In his novel, the moon had been a
penal colony for the nations of Earth ala Botany Bay. He incorporated a
number of Russian terms in the "local dialect" for the society he devised
for this moon colony.

Dee Hays (a major fan of Robert Heinlein).
