Unfortunately, acoustically, the system does not work so well for
woodwinds. Too many holes for the sound to escape from. I have seen a
muting device for saxophone that is, in effect, a gig bag with holes in it
into which you can insert your hands and a hole for the neck to stick out
the top. They advertise a 70% reduction in sound.
