It is my own opinion that one should experiment in every way that interests
one and find what works best for oneself. Because it is quicker to clip a
reed than to sand off the tip, I have used a clipper, and quite
successfully. Using sandpaper does not guarantee uncrushed fibers,
especially when the reed is wet. It would seem logical to me that any
pressure from above on a reed will crush fibers, but that is MY opinion.
The oven is now open! ;?)
