OK, so I was being a bit tounge-in-cheek about not learning the gliss,
and I do play with a decent altissimo. My point should have been that
once you learn to "slide around" between notes, you have to pay extra
attention, especially in the altissimo, so that you don't do it by
mistake. Or something like that. If you don't learn it, you don't have
to worry! And you're right, a little junk food now and then can't
hurt. ;-P
