You get paid extra only if you are required to play more than one
instrument on that particular gig, and even then, as has been discussed,
the amount varies from place to place. This really only applies to
professional, union-member-level stuff, of course. You may simply get more
calls because you can cover more jobs playing one at a time (jobs
requiring, in your case, EITHER trombone OR clarinet, since gigs requiring
both would be few and far between!).
