Dave! I am hurt! My altissimo is crispy clear!

Joking aside, I do play with no tongue or embouchure weirdness. One of the
many things I work on in my daily routine is keeping a very channeled tongue
position in a very definite place in my mouth. This keeps my tone consistant
and my staccato light and accurate throughout the range of the horn.

Perhaps it is because I work on these things as much as I do that I can throw
them out the window and go hog wild for the occasional gliss or Klezmer gig?
(Sort of like eating healty every day and occasionally jambing in a plate of
ribs and a sundae - won't kill you and man is it fun.)
