I once played with an orchestra where the contractor REFUSED to pay doubling,
even tho I was bringing Bb, A, Eb, AND bass....

He said, "They're all clarinets, aren't they?"

When I objected, he then said, "I hired you because you HAVE all these horns,
if I have to pay doubling, I'll hire someone else next time."

Same guy DIDN'T hire me for an Eb gig, THEN called me to see if the guy he
DID hire could borrow my Eb

I guess he missed out on his sensitivity training........
