Ever go prospecting there? I haven't yet risen to this apogee of the
collector's art, but I recently bought two clarinets from a picker who
excavates rubbish bins after auctions and flea markets. The fresher and
less-compacted levels of the landfill in a place as cultured as Marin might
yield some pretty neat stuff for those strong of stomach and brave of heart
who will face down rats and hornets for the prize. (His advice: hip boots.)

>I take it you're no longer in Marin County?>
Marin said "Good riddance" to me in 1966, although I sneak back to visit my
parents. I've moved around some (left California in 1973), and am now
bringing down property values in northern Virginia.

But seriously.... Thank you for the kind remarks. You realize we've just
disillusioned a lot of nice people who thought of the Marinated County as a
romantic place with Stinson Beach on one side and the Golden Gate Bridge on
the other, with nothing but Muir Woods, Mt.Tam, the Marin Symphony, espresso
bars, fitness spas and Steven Spielberg in between. Besides the dump, should
we tell them about the...? Nah.
