When a solid foundation of learning and experience has been laid, it is
not necessarily detrimental to take a vacation now and then. I read
about a training program for distance swimmers that actually advises the
athletes to not swim for a couple of months in the year's training cycle.

I have found musical growth to blossom after a dormant time - as long
as it was following and initial nurturing . Like the daffodils blooming
in our gardens?
