How accurate is the information at this site? I looked up "West Side
Story" there, and got the following results, which aren't even close
to what I remember of the reed parts.
REED I:
Clarinet
Alto Sax
Flute
REED II:
Tenor Sax
Clarinet
REED III:
Baritone Sax
Clarinet
Bass Clarinet
As I recall, there are five reed parts. Reed I plays piccolo, flute,
clarinet, and alto sax. Reed II plays clarinet, Eb clarinet, and
bass clarinet. I don't remember the other three books in detail (Syd,
are you out there?), but there's bassoon, there's bass sax...it's quite
different from what MTI lists. Is it possible that MTI is marketing =
simplified shows?
