Like bad breath, bad data is better than no data at all. Both should be
improved.

I can easily understand and even forgive MENC for posting data on their web
site which supports their position, and not posting data to the contrary.
But are you suggesting that MENC deliberately fudged the data? I would be
very chary about making such a potentially libelous statement in public
(here) without good data to back up your case.
