Playing throat-Bb to clarion-G is often fumbled simply because the thumb
rises off the register key ever-so-slightly during the transition. The de-
sire is to slide the left hand from the throat-A down to the three toneholes
for clarion G while keeping the register key fully open. If it closes even
a little bit, you're likely to get a grunt or a delayed response on the de-
sired note. 'Same thing happens whenever making a jump from the chalumeau
to clarion register and activating the register vent a split-second later
than covering the necessary toneholes.
