I am glad I don't live in Germany. The system you describe is so inequitable to
the student, that it must make you feel uncomfortable at times. For example, you
as a teacher can be sick and retain the fee for a lesson not given, but a
student forfeits the fee on a public holiday? Must have been set up by a music
teacher with a vendetta.
