Here's one where the kid DID show up - but without her clarinet! Her
excuse: I left it at home and my mom forgot to bring it when she picked me
up from school. My amazed (and bemused) question: Then why did she bring
you at all? What does she think we're going to do for half an hour? (Mom
had dropped her off and left, so I dragged out my yukky old marching Bundy
and made her take her lesson on that, but it wasn't very productive. This
kid no longer takes lessons. Music was clearly NOT a priority, for parent or
child.)
