Well, I was not trying to do that. My point was not so much directed at
that one incident, but what can sound frivolous to you maybe a crisis for a
busy family. Their action might be a reflection of the relative weight of
importance of music in that family's life, and that weighting is their
decision. I have canceled lessons, but always tried to reschedule, because
of conflicts with basketball, soccer, camping trips, etc. I don't like to do
it, but it happens. These cancellations were not frivolous, but it response
to other obligations. I know that my girls teacher think of them as good
students. I think one thing that teachers and coaches some time fail to do
is commit the parents to their kids activities. Give that a try. It goes a
long way.

I will admit that delivering cookies is a stretch.
