I'm basically the same way. I'll excuse a lesson for any reason if I know
before hand about the absence. The only acceptable late excuses deal with
sickness and death. In that case, I require that they let me know by 2 days
after the missed lesson.

For any other private teachers out there, I highly reccommend that you
give the parents a policy sheet and make them sign and return the bottom
portion. This lets me say "I told you sooooo!!!!"
