Subj: Re: [kl] Studio teaching and the Band Director

>>I don't know how accurate this is, but when my daughter was asked to give
private lessons to some sixth grade begginers, the band director said if the
UIL found out, it could cause her and posibly the whole band to be
eliminated from UIL competition. He also stated that he couldn't charge for
lessons either unless the child was from another school. I do know the
director of one of the neighboring schools banned his kids from playing in
the local community bands because of simular statements from UIL officials.
Can anyone shed some light on this.
