Not really, other than caveat emptor. Sometimes I e-mail sellers when I
see what appears to be honest error on their part in the description, and
usually these people add corrections of completely repost their items. I
usually am thanked for the trouble, but I also try to keep the tone nice.
Things that are wildly overpriced or otherwise obviously deficient seldom
draw bids, like the Rene Dumont clarinet some guy has been trying to sell
for months starting at $95, missing its barrel joint (I told him so, too!).
Sellers of bad merchandise get nailed with feedback, lose credibility, and
disappear when nobody will bid on their stuff anymore. I have had, with
only one exception, great success in my many dealings over eBay, but if you
are not knowledgeable about what you are buying it can be risky.
