In my area the school directors are not ANY barrier for my studio (and
others). The difficulty is in getting parents to see the benefit of
lessons. The attitude is : my child has music in school each day,
and after school practice, so why should i pay for MORE music lessons?

Or the student (or parent) says, "I get superior's at solo & ensemble and
I play top chair in band, I am doing so well that I need no further
instruction."

Then there is occasionally the opposite difficulty-- that parents think
the lessons are important but the student doesn't.
