Subj: [kl] super gluing tenons
Date: Mon, 3 Apr 2000 10:37:47 -0400

One of my students broke off the lower tenon of the upper joint inside
where it fits into the upper joint. The repairman actually super glued the
tenon back together (I don't know if he removed the broken off piece from
inside the lower joint or not. It had been stuck!) Anyway, I thought I
would relate this strange horror story for the perusal of this list. I have
had to let this kid know he cannot throw or drop his clarinet ...he needs to
let me do that.
Seriously, has anyone ever had this done, and what were the results (if
any)? I would never have ever had to play on any such thing, but, then
again, my parents always supported my love affair with the clarinet.
