Walter,

Assuming that you want the list members to be aware of the responses, I'll
respond here rather than privately. The two Gigliotti P's and the VanDoren
M13Lyre I've been using at various times over the past several years all
have very slight spaces between the straight back of my reed knife and the
table. The concavity runs the whole length of the table between the bottom
of the window and the end of the mouthpiece. The straight edge touches only
at those two points.
