Sometimes the cork on the lower joint gets worn so the top and bottom joints
move slightly. That can mis-align the bridge keys causing the problems you
mention. Other times if things are lined up perfectly, your clarinet will
play fine. Check to see if you can wiggle the top and bottom joints when
they are put together. If you can, you need an new cork. Good luck.
