once i played on a synthetic oboe reed (when i was in my oboe stage -- not a
pretty time ) -- i may be a little off subject since we are talking about
clarinet reeds -- and i agree with leighton bingham...they are VERY bright
and kind of loud. also kind of shrieky but then again it prob. was shrieky
cuz of my 'beginners' embrochure.

while we're on the subject of reeds...i've been reading that you can soak
your reeds in hydrogen peroxide to clean them off. i tried it and the bubbles
were really going...but how long do you soak it? in the article it said a
"few minutes." do you wait till there isn't more bubbles? will the hydrogen
peroxide damage the reed if you let it soak for too long? thanks
