I'll put my vote in for Yamaha also, although I am very new to the clarinet.
I just started playing after a 25 year pause since I played saxophone. When I
went looking for an intermediate instrument to purchase I was surprised with
how good the Yamaha's sound. I purchased a model Y34 after trying it, a
Selmer Omega (US), and another Yamaha intermediate. All three instruments
sounded very good, but I settled on my Yamaha because of the easy range of
dynamics, the smooth feel of the keys, and mostly because it sounded best to
my ear.
