This is a really interesting article, Tony. Thank you for citing
it. What about air pressure and air volume (in addition to mouth size)?
I suppose if the device can be operated by a human blowing into a hose,
then the device does not need more volume or pressure than a human is
capable of supplying.
This would leave only size and geometry as variables. (Perhaps I
should learn how to make my mouth into a cube?)
