I also blow test each joint. The Eb/Ab key on the lower joint will blow up
so you need to lightly hold it down as you blow (use a cork in the bottom
end). On the top joint, it has been my experience that I should be able to
blow as hard as I can and no air should leak at all. If a key blows up on
the top joint, the spring is probably too loose. Also, don't forget to put
the two joints together and check the pads affected by the bridge keys after
you have checked each joint separately.
