What? They replaced a joint, it cracked again before another year was up, the student only had it for 3 weeks, and they won't replace it?

Write or call Buffet. After my son had a similar problem they were most accomodating. We made a day trip out of it to Chicago (from Detroit) and were well treated by both Buffet & Francois.
