Hello,

I am new to the list and I'm happy to find such a great resorce. My =
name is Jamie McLeod, a clarinetist and public school band director. I =
have a question regarding the the quality of wood used in today's Buffet =
clarinets. Specifically, I have a student who has purchased a new =
Buffet and has had to have the top joint replaced twice because of long =
cracks through the tone holes. He is meticulous about his care of the =
instrument, yet he still has had this unfortunate luck. Purchased =
through WW and BW, he is past the warranty by a few months (although =
they did replace the joint once before). Now their replacement joint =
has cracked after only 3 weeks! They are understandably unwilling to do =
anything more (out of warranty and all). Is there a regional Buffet =
rep. for the Michigan area?

Has anyone had a similar problem? Who did you contact (other than the =
store) to get satisfaction? Does Buffet stand behind their products =
anymore? We would appreciate any help or advice.
