Subj: [kl] Supplementary materials

I'm curious as to what others are using for supplementary materials for
their young students. I've purchased some "easy" duet books - ie - A Tune A
Day - etc, but find even these quickly jump into the middle octave and
wonder if there are any other collections of duets, solos, and mixed
ensembles (clarinet, flute, and alto saxophone).
I've even resorted to occasionally writing my own compositions and
arrangements - I did see a nice Christmas collection by Yahama. by the time
I saw it I was sick of writing arrangements of Christmas carols.
I believe my first beginner lessons from our band director were from Rubank,
but don't remember if it took 2 years to get through it and when I started
lessons with the director's wife, a clarinet major we used Carl Baermann,
Wiedemann,
De Caprio, Gerald Coward, and the Rose study books.
