Hi again Doug,
An 8-28 clearly doesn't exist in the standard ISO/Unified system, however,
you may have a metric 4 - 0.7 thread which is close to an 8-32. I have
recently published an article in THE WOODWIND QUARTERLY Issue #19 on
understanding thread sizes and how to know which Unified are silimar to, or
nearly interchangable with Metric sizes. If you know of someone who
subscribes to the WWQ, borrow their issue; I have included some helpful
comparitive charts.

Best Regards, Lars Kirmser
