Subject: Buying a clarinet? BEWARE!
Message-ID: <5e3525fb.35591a6a@-----.com>

HELLO!

My name is Michael Wallace. I am the Regional Manager for Boosey &
Hawkes
Musical Instruments, Inc. for California and Nevada. We are the makers
and
distributors of the Buffet clarinets. It has been brought to my
attention
that a shop in Los Angeles (a former Buffet dealer) has purchased some
"second
hand" clarinets to sell as new. These clarinets were purchased
gray-market
from another country. That is, around the US distribution. As a
result,
these instruments have not received our "Platinum Service". They have
not
been inspected by Francois Kloc and his crew. They will not have a
valid
warranty here in the US. Boosey & Hawkes Musical Instruments, Inc.
(USA) will
not guarantee the gray-marketed clarinets (and low C bass clarinets)
against
CRACKING OR ANYTHING ELSE. We at Boosey & Hawkes are very proud of our
Buffet
clarinets and we want you, the player, to enjoy the wonderful experince
of
knowing that you have purchased the very best clarinet for you. I feel
it is
my duty to warn you. Beware and buy your Buffet from an AUTHORIZED
BOOSEY &
HAWKES DEALER IN YOUR AREA.

Best regards,
Michael
