I suspect that publishers realize that they'll sell more
copies of a piece by "Wagner" than by "Baermann". That's
sadly a disincentive to switch completely over to the
truth.

The real message publishers should convey is this: "Here's
a movement that has been published incorrectly under Wagner's
name. Notice that is sounds just as wonderful without
that name. It wasn't just a case where a big composer's name
blinded your critical faculties -- this really is a nice piece
of music. Now here's some more pieces by the real composer,
Heinrich Baerman, that you might enjoy as much as the familiar Adagio."
