I usually don't post here, but I had to say something in Francois'
defense.

Mark, your hypothetical Lexus probably wasn't purchased from 'Big Bob's
Used Cars and Wristwatches". And any Lexus dealer wouldn't cover it
unless you got your extended warrantee from an authorized Lexus dealer.
In fact, Lexus really doesn't want anybody they haven't authorized
selling their cars either. But since most musicians can't afford a
Lexus, I can forgive you your lack of experience in this matter.

Alvin, you should be ashamed. What a nasty post! I see that you have a
service business yourself, and may feel slighted or threatened by
Francois statements regarding his 'Platinum Service'. I am willing to
wager (rhetorically only, I'm saving for a Lexus) that his knowledge of
Buffet instruments, their peculiarities and nature, far exceeds yours.
There are not many people in this country with his level of expertise,
and far fewer who would take the time he does to bother with groups like
this one. And even if I am wrong and you are some sort of guru with a
shop and equipment that rivals his, Francois is still speaks for the
company. You do not.

You guys have a lot of nerve jumping on him for trying to help you out.
You don't mind running to him with your problems ("oh, my rh c key is
too firm"; "I got my barrel stuck in my ass, what do I do???") But when
he tries to give you guys some unsolicited info that could help keep you
out of trouble...wham! Gee, thanks pal! If you hadn't noticed,
Francois is not some Joe Schmoe repairman. He's THE man here in the US
when it comes to Buffet. And if you don't like B&H's attempts to
control the distribution and subsequent warranting of their products,
don't yell at him, buy a Bundy. Or if you're really skilled in
woodworking, as some here obviously are, make your own damn clarinet.

Remember, Francois doesn't own the company, he just works there. And we
all get him for free. So lighten up.
