I got one of these as a sample, and I was surprised by how well it played
- decent focus and tone, and not too free or too resistant. The fit on
the upper tenon was not quite right - I think it wouldn't go all the way
on - but that's not a terrible problem, since that means that the barrel
and upper joint are meeting on the inside, if not the outside. Especially
for students who are not very advanced, this could be a good barrel -
when you pull it our ("Click" it out?) there is a minimum of gap in the
bore to mess up throat tone tuning. I got the cheapest one. In an
emergency, I could use it, though (for whatever misguided, unscientific
reason) I'd probably stick to a good wooden barrel. (flame suit on!!)
