Hi Carol,

I tried out the Elite at Midwest a couple of years ago. I loved it the
sound and the feel, but playing one at the convention is like playing in
a barn. I went to the Buffet warehouse in Illinois and tried them
there. The sound there seemed to have very little projection, but I
still wanted to believe that I would like it if I played in a rehearsal
room instead of the small room Buffet put me in. They let me take it to
a rehearsal. It did not (at least for me) have anywhere near the
projection needed for overcoming the always too loud orchestra. It's
beautiful, the lack of weight is wonderful, but, for my purposes (mainly
orchestral work) it fell short. I was very disappointed. I do think it
would be great for chamber work.

I would definitely suggest trying it in your playing situation before
you make a decision, if it is at all possible. Good Luck.
