I also agree that the French are friendly to Americans. I have lived in
Europe for almost 7 years, and have found everyone that I have met to be
absolutely wonderful. In fact a lot better than I have experienced on my
recent return move back to the US this month. My move back has not been
without its challenges...

I have bought two clarinets in Paris. The most recent trip was beyond my
expectations. I faxed and called a shop in Paris about trying some Buffet
Prestige RC clarinets in A to try and match my Bb, which I had bought from
them in 1997. When I arrived, they had 16 clarinets all ready to go on a big
music peg board. Four hours later, I walked out with a great new A Clarinet.
The tough part was selecting "THE" clarinet out of the lot. Most played
exceptionally well. What a wonderful experience. And I am just an "born
again amatuer". The price was much better than I could get in the US.

Cynthia
