Mr. Wright:
You are correct, as a newcomer you should not be complaining until you have
been a "Klarineter" for a number of months and have a better perspective
concerning what this List is all about.
Quite a number of "Listers" have products and/or services that can be quite
valuable to other "Listers". It is my opinion that their use of Klarinet to
make this information known to all of us is a service that is beneficial to
all.
Of course, there is a "commercial" aspect to this, but, in my opinion, the
benefits to our Klarinet list "market" far exceed any objections that one
might have.
The U.S.A. enjoys a capitalist free enterprise system so, to me, the use of
Klarinet by our numerous talented experts for the benefit of all of us is
entirely appropriate.
If Klarinet does not live up to your expectations or if you do not think
that you will benefit from the exchange of information that occurs here, so
be it. See the information appended at the end of all messages.

Thanks Gene! Assuming that the commercial use comment was directed at me,
I'll respond.
The length of the thread was truly not at all intended as a commercial at
all. It was a contest which generated quite a bit on interest, FUN, and
intrigue. I myself don't want to always see the list with subjects looking
like - reeds, which clarinet, ad , my cat, ad, reeds, marching band, ad,
plastic vs wood, ad, mail order, ad, plug, more cat, plastic vs. pressed
plastic, reeds, ad, mean marching band director, ad ;)

Bill - get the Digest if you don't already - lots easier to delete, or
ignore. I agree actually with both Gene, and Bill that
if it were a "commercial" ploy that was extended all day - it would have
been unacceptable. But the intent was not to literally "pound" it into
anyone. If I wanted folks to go to the page, I would have written - "there
are hints on my page - go see it, and see it again if it still doesn't
register, in fact download all the songs - never know if there is a hidden
hint" , as there is a review of my playing by her. But that was not the
intent at all, and it was for a $20 prize - using my own money - which I
would not get anything back. Maybe I got 100 views from it - WOW whole
$1!!! - it's 33 cent burgers at McDonalds (plug;) on Wednesday's so my
lunch is bought ;)
At least I'm a sponsor - but I really, REALLY don't want nor intend to
abuse that.
During the "contest" I was staying in contact with no less then 3 Klarinet
members who knew the answer - not 1 of them said to me - It's grown out of
proportion, let's give em the answer now so that it doesn't clog up the list.
I myself even asked if you guys give up yet by in the #10 posting (overall)
I said - do you cry Uncle yet?
I suggest Bill that you shift-mouse click select the thread, and delete it.
There was a **major** battle going in Classical land there - Classical vs.
Clazzical - I slayed the dragon. No more easy listening at #1.

Happy St. Patty's day.
