Ok, but it still should work out about the same cost for a standard item and
any reputable place will give an estimate that is reasonably close to the
final cost. Or if unexpected problems arise, call you for further
authorization.

Of course the disadvantage is that a new, inexperienced repair person will
take longer and thus a repair will cost more than if done by some one who
knows what they are doing (unless they use different hourly rates for
different levels of techs).
