(a) still alive, and (b)an American?

All American, and very much alive!!! Many years left too, but
not "young" - so it isn't Igor either (though maybe soon).
There are players in the Big 5 Orchestras who studied with this Clarinetist
(Clarinettist ;).
And is still recording currently, so not stuff from the past.
