Subject: Info on Boosey's Regent clarinet
Message-ID: <20000313020203.20711.qmail@-----.com>

Hi all,
Someone just gave me a Boosey & Hawkes' Regent
clarinet. I'm still a beginner at this so pls bear
with me. It's made of plastic but I dont find Regent
clarinets listed under B&H's site. I presume they dont
make them anymore?
Could anyone give me some info on how old the clarinet
it, whether or not anyone has played such models
before (was it good?) and has anyone encountered any
problems with it?
<
It was a cheap but adequate student model, made up to the late 70s I woul=
d
guess. An equivalent nowadays would probably sell for about $300 - $500.
Probably not as good as the current Yamaha or Buffet cheapest models, but=

would not get anyone into bad habits if maintained or overhauled properly=
.

Keith Bowen
