Was the decision to remain in NY "forged" out of personal choice, health or
some family-related matter ?

Is it possible that a player of this renown-stature could not have been used
by the countless other great orchestras in the world ? Surely, there was
some Orchestra SOMEWHERE in the world that would have been in need of his
services ....
